Jacket, Flying, B15
This jacket replaced the leather A-2 as standard issue for aircrew and pilots after 1943. The B-15 jacket in blue nylon was adopted in 1947 when the US Air Force was formed as an independent arm of the US Armed Forces and first issued in 1944 the nylon version saw heavy use in the Korean war during 1950 – 1954 by jet fighter and bomber pilots.

• Front zipper over a wind flap
