This is the cap made from custom woven and Mil-spec dyed cotton herringbone twill fabric in the shade of OD #5 (light shade, "sage") and meant to be worn with the Army M1941 and M1942 Light Shade HBT fatigues. It has a thick cotton duck filled visor known as a “short bill” and two pairs of OD painted brass ventilation eyelets on each side. This cap was widely worn in the Pacific and European theaters by US Army soldiers. It was also worn by US Marines before they designed and issued their own P44 fatigue cap worn with their HBT fatigues.
This production runs roomy, and already allows for shrinkage.
