He found a home in the Army!  This piece of headgear sometimes referred by soldiers as the "overseas cap" is the standard issue Enlisted Man's Khaki Cotton Garrison Cap mean to be worn with the enlisted man's class B Khaki Cotton uniform.  Army regulations dictated that this headgear was to be worn by enlisted troops at all times when in khaki uniform and not wearing a helmet.

This cap displayed the enlisted man's branch of service of the soldier with a colored piping along the top edge of the outer band.  Enlisted branches of service the we offer are shown in the drop down menu below. Details include robust and authentic 100% Cotton twill dyed in the appropriate shade of Khaki, cotton headband lining, and authentic QM inspector tag.

Sizes and branches that we offer are indicated in the drop down menu are the only ones that we have available.  We refer to this style of cap as the "GI" style.

Price $30.00 each.

Stand at the door!  This headgear item is a unique style of garrison cap that was initially adopted by the Paratroopers of the US Army.  This cap was authorized to be worn at all times even while still in training within "stateside".  This was NOT a general issue cap provided by the Army but was a private purchase item that soldiers would buy at their local Post Exchange or PX and were authorized to wear with their uniform.  This style cap was unique due to the omission of the gusset along the top edge of the cap.  This made for more pronounce peaks at the front and back of the cap giving the wearer a very sharp appearance.  Paratroopers were authorized this style of cap along with their brown paratrooper boots.  Eventually, as WWII progressed the wearing of this popular style cap fanned out to many troops throughout the US Army.  A cap patch was affixed to the front of the cap to further designate parachute or glider units in the infantry, artillery, medical, etc, branches of service.  Note that the US Army required the wearing of the combined "Para-glider" cap patch for all airborne troops entering the European Theater of Operations Normandy invasion.  Now, whether the very proud paratroops followed the cap patch regs. was another thing entirely...

Please note that cap patches are NOT included on our caps.  Sizes that we offer are indicated in the drop down menu are the only ones that we have available.  Just as with the standard version cap shown above, this cap displayed the enlisted man's branch of service with a colored piping along the top edge of the outer band.  This khaki cap is only offered with Infantry Light blue, Artillery Red, and Officer's Black/Gold piping.  Cap DOES NOT include the cap patch which can be purchased via the link below.

Price $30.00 each.
